Founded by Librarians in 2004, the Carolina Consortium Continues to Save Money for Libraries

Through the power of bulk buying, the Carolina Consortium saves North and South Carolina libraries over $400 million per year on databases, ebooks, journals, services, datasets, and more. The group was founded by UNCG librarians in 2004 and has grown to include 176 community colleges, private and public colleges and universities, seminary schools, and public libraries. More than half a million students and faculty benefit from the resources provided through the Carolina Consortium. For more on the group, visit or contact Tim Bucknall.
